Literature Text

I hate it when I have to speak
My truth wrapped in lies
I hate the thought, when you learn it all,
The cold to fill your eyes

I hate what I have to steal
When I have to steal from you
I hate the bitter fortune
That my lonely soul is heir to

I hate the cuffs hanging from my wrists
The hurt way you look at me
I almost hate the love I feel
Reluctantly forfeiting your heart for the key

I hate the way I met you
Wearing blue instead of black
I hate the rules that hold us down
But I am unable to turn back

I hate the wheels set in motion
My plan firmly in place
I hate the way I haven’t seen
A true smile on your face

I hate it every time we part
Returning to sinners of men
I hate it when I’m wounded
Because I’ll lie to you again
This Michael's lament about the things comeing between him and Sara being together.
